So there are dorms. Your characters live in dorms. They have a roommate and stuff. This is here to make sure we know who's with who so that any plot you have with your fellow dorm residents will work out and you aren't just constantly moving rooms.
Each room holds two people- they must be of the same gender. Your character is not able to pick their roommate, although you (the person controlling the character) may pick whomever you want for whatever plot reasons as long as neither of you already has a roommate.
You may not move dorms unless your roommate, like, tries to kill you or you have a very good reason to file complaint. However, dorm rules are not very strictly enforced at The Academy, so if you have a friend who will allow you to stay with them and their roommate is okay with that, you can do so.
Every two rooms share a bathroom, every four rooms share a common area/kitchen. The bathroom sharers must be of the same gender, but the two groups that share a common area can be different.
