Kazimir had just returned back to the Academy from his hockey game. His team had lost the game, 2-0. Kazimir had had only four shots on goal, about half oh his usual shots on goal. He had also skated for about 35 minutes as well, so he was very tired. As he stepped out of his red Honda Accord, he wanted to sit and watch some television, but he also wanted something to eat first, as he was very hungry. Walking quietly through the elegant halls of the Academy to the Commons, he spotted a ghostly pale girl with hair light enough to look white at a glance. She had tattoos encircling her arm that made her look almost like a white-and-red zebra. Using his powers, he reached out to her. She seemed rather excited, but Kazimir could tell everything was not what it seemed. Kazimir cautiously approached the girl, curious about her being so excited. He calmly walked up and said to her, "Hello."

Eri was sitting in the commons, gnawing silently on a sandwich as she stared at the screen in front of her. In literature, magic schools and camps always seemed to have some rules against technology, but here at the Academy there was no such limitation. Thank god... Eri couldn't survive without her laptop. At the moment she was deep in an episode of Black Butler. Sigh... Sebastian was so dreamy when he murdered people with projectile butter knives...

As she pondered whether or not she should draw a Faustian seal on her free hand, Eri just barely heard a soft voice behind her. They'd said hello, she thought. Lightning quick, she whipped her head around to fix them with a wide-eyed stare. A tall boy with longish brown hair looked back at her. She pressed the space bar to pause the video, then pulled a sharpie from her pocket, all while keeping her eyes on the man. "Why are you watching me?" she asked in a sing-song tone, uncapping the black marker with her teeth and tilting her head far to the right.

"Why are you watching me? the girl said, tilting her head to the left. She uncapped the marker she was holding with her teeth, and stared at me with a strange glare.
"I'm new here. You seemed awfully excited. A little too excited." I stared at the girl, studying that the tattoos that appeared to be ink were not actually tattoos. They were sharpie tattoos. I could tell because of the black Sharpie she had just opened. I looked at the laptop, shifting my eyebrows up a little. I was confused.
"What's that you're watching?"

So he found that she was excited. How interesting. She readjusted her neck as she continued to stare at him. "I'm not excited, my brain is just busy. Like right now, I'm thinking about finishing my sandwich --" she glanced over to the forgotten meal she had set down when switching her focus to drawing on her skin -- "and about being careful when I draw this circle or it'll set the whole seal weird. Oh, and I'm also wondering what your blood would look like if I slit your throat right now. It's probably the same old boring candy apple red... but I could make it teal or mustardy if you like that better."

The boy seemed somewhat unfazed by her remarks, continuing on to ask her what she was watching. She smiled, finally shifting her unblinking gaze from the boy and down to her hand. "I'm watching Black Butler, or Kuroshitsuji if you prefer," Eri hummed as she began to sketch on her hand, "It's about a butler who happens to be a demon in a contract with his master. He wants to eat Ciel's soul."

"I'm watching Black Butler, or Kuroshitsuji if you prefer," the girl said, starting to hum as she took the sharpie and began to draw on her hand, "It's about a butler who happens to be a demon in a contract with his master. He wants to eat Ciel's soul." The girl added. By now her neck and head were aligned, not craned to the left anymore. This Black Butler thing sounded stupid, just like everything I'd ever seen that was like it.

I rolled my shoulders, and they felt sore, thinking about the girl's earlier comment. 'Probably same old candy apple red... but I could make it teal or mustardy if you like that better.' I gave a concerned look at the girl, now just figuring out that she was at the very least influenced by this Black Butler show, at worst completely mentally ill. I decided to play along, though. I put my fingers on my chin, making a thinking face, and said,
"I think I'll take teal."

Eri finished drawing the seal on her hand with a flourish, inspecting the design to confirm that it was drawn properly. It actually looked quite good. Maybe she would hairspray it when she got to her dorm to keep it set for longer. As she observed the pentacle-like design, the boy who had seated himself across from her casually responded to her remark about blood color. So he was a teal kind of guy, huh?

Quick as a flash, Eri discarded her sharpie and reached for the butter kind that she had picked up with her sandwich. She lunged across the table, knees cold against the hard plastic, and made a grab for the boy's wrist. She tapped her chin thoughtfully with the knife before focusing her gaze (and the knife) on the boy. "You know, teal is such an ugly, common color. How about we go for a royal purple instead?"

"You know, teal is such an ugly, common color. How about we go for a royal purple instead?" the girl replied. I stared back at her, with an annoyed look on my face. I shifted my eyebrows up, and said,
"Maybe, but that's still too close to the candy apple red. How about gold? Gold would look nice." I said, reaching for the butter knife.
"Can I see the butter knife for a moment?" I asked.

Gold? He wanted gold blood? Eri tried to contain her laughter, but that quickly failed and she burst into a fit of giggles. "Gold is about the worst color you can have. Other than red, or brown. But purple? That's royal, it's high blood. Just barely better than being a literal blueblood. I'm offering to make you a king on the hemospectrum, and you'd rather be a shiny yellow peasant? Stupid."

As she laughed, the boy reached for the knife. Eri quickly reacted, lifting it high away from his grasp and moving her hand to his throat, gripping just tight enough to make him uncomfortable but loose enough to not choke him. He had the nerve to ask for her weapon? She tilted her head with a grin. "Rule number one if you wanna sit with me: don't try and take my knife. It's mine."
