Welcome!
Hi, I'm Ginger, and this here is a basic guide to role playing. This thread is for people who have never before in their lives role played. If you just want to fine tune your role playing abilities, go check out some other threads. Anyways, role playing is super fun, but it can be a little weird once you first start. Here are some basic tips for role playing!
We are going to use this RP sample throughout this guide and will slowly improve on it:
1. Do more than just describe what your character is doing.
If you want to role play, sometimes it can really help add to the topic if you describe what your character is wearing, how they see the other character, or even just take a moment to describe the setting.
Here is a basic example of describing little things around your IC character.
2. No godmodding
Godmodding is the result of a role player making their character all-powerful. It is both annoying and disrespectful to other members, so here is how to avoid it.
Here is an example of godmodding using our basic text.

3. No powerplaying
Powerplaying is when a role player takes control over another role player's character. This is more than just annoying - this is just plain rude.
Here is an example of powerplaying.
A good way to ignore powerplaying is just to incorporate dialogue. Here is an example of how to avoid powerplaying.
